Civil and administrative officials of the city, administrators of public institutions, representatives of NGOs and foundation officials attended the meeting entitled “Problems Faced by Disabled People” organized due to May 10-16 Disability Week.

In addition to ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak; Erzurum Governor Okay Memiş, AK Party Erzurum Deputies Zehra Taşkesenlioğlu Ban and Selami Altınok, Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen, Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Çomaklı, AK Party Provincial Chairman Mehmet Emin Öz, district mayors, provincial health director, provincial and district directors of family and social services, business institutions, social security, youth and sports, national education provincial and district directors and civilian heads of community organizations attended.

At the meeting moderated by Deputy Selami Altınok, the steps taken to ensure that individuals with special needs take part in social life more actively were mentioned and ideas were exchanged in order to create a more accessible living and living space for individuals with special needs.

Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak, on the other hand, talked about ETÜ's work for students and staff with special needs and said that they continue their studies with the unhindered university password without slowing down. Rector Bülent Çakmak stated that especially with the studies carried out in recent years, all students have the right to receive equal education and that the work continues at full speed in order to provide a livable campus life for everyone.
