Murat Şahin who is Chairman of the Board of Military Electronics Industry (ASELSAN) Precision Optical Inc. and the accompanying delegation were guests of Erzurum Technical University (ETU). Murat Şahin paid a return visit to ETU Rector Bülent Çakmak who visited the ASELSAN Precision Optics Center in Sivas, and made various contacts at ETU and in the city. In this context; Rector Bülent Çakmak, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Birol Soysal, Prof. Dr. İrfan Kaymaz, Secretary General Assoc. Dr. Tuba Yetim and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Prof. Dr. Fatih Yetim accompanied the delegation who visited the High Technology and Research Center (YÜTAM), Mucitpark and ETU Kristal in ETU.

Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, Rector Bülent Çakmak came together with the officials of ASELSAN, which has contributed to the outstanding success of our country in the defense industry in recent years, and ASELSAN Precision Optics Center in Sivas, and emphasized the importance of joint cooperation. Rector Bülent Çakmak, who stated that this and similar meetings strengthen the inter-institutional relations, stated that he wholeheartedly believes that the establishment of a similar center in Sivas in Erzurum will be for the benefit of the city and the region: We will be happy to work in cooperation. The way to keep up with the new world order and to enable our students to adapt to the changing age is to follow the developing technology closely. ETU Continues Its Works For Domestic And National Technology Move
Noting that ETU has a very important value for its city and region, ASELSAN Precision Optics Center Chairman Murat Şahin stated that they came together with ETU management within the scope of university-industry cooperation: “In recent years, there has been a significant increase in productivity with the transfer of scientific knowledge to industrial organizations. Especially with the increase in the number of technical universities, a significant contribution was made to the employment of qualified personnel needed in the industrial sector. At this point, ETU continues to work on domestic and national technology moves with the mission it has undertaken. The Visits Continued With Various Institutional Managers
ETU Rector Bülent Çakmak and his entourage and the delegation from Sivas later visited Erzurum Governor Okay Memiş in his office. Then, the delegation met with Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Sekmen and later met with Erzurum Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Lütfü Yücelik and discussed the possibilities of cooperation between institutions.
