Erzurum Technical University (ETU) Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Çakmak published a message for the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. Rector Bülent Çakmak stated the following in his message:

We are proud of celebrating the 102nd anniversary of the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk Youth and Sports Day. The war of independence started by the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Samsun on May 19, 1919 for the freedom struggle of the Turkish Nation, spread throughout the country with the determination of our nation and ended in victory.

Undoubtedly, our youth, who are the guarantors of the future, play a very important role in the development of both our society and our country with their hope and enthusiasm. For this reason, it is one of our most important duties to raise our young people equipped with moral values with science and art. It is our youth who will enable us to reach brighter and more prosperous days by carrying our future.

With these feelings and thoughts, I celebrate the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk Youth and Sports Day, remember with mercy and gratitude to all of our martyrs, especially the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and his comrades-in-arms and wish them mercy.
