Another one of our projects has been supported by TUSEB (June 6, 2026).

Our faculty's Molecular Biology and Genetics Department faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özlem ÖZDEMİR TOZLU is the advisor, and her master's student Sedanur ERGÜL is the project leader. The TÜSEB project titled " Development of a BBB-Permeable Antagomir-Based Nanotherapeutic Approach for Targeted miRNA Suppression in Alzheimer's Disease" has been awarded funding.

The project focuses on designing a stabilized antagomir to suppress a specific microRNA (miRNA) that is increased in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease, and delivering this molecule to neuronal cells by loading it onto a niosomal nanocarrier system so that it can cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), the biggest obstacle in clinical application.

We congratulate our professor and the project team and wish them continued success.
