Dear New Students of the English Language and Literature Department,

Welcome to the Erzurum Technical University! 

The preparatory class exemption conditions are determined as follows in accordance with the Preparatory Class Education-Teaching and Examination Directive:

Students who score at least 65 out of 100 or an equivalent score from any national/international foreign language exam recognized as equivalent by ÖSYM, measuring basic reading-writing-listening skills, are exempt. However, national exams such as YÖKDİL and YDS do not meet the international criteria and are not accepted. Accepted international exams include Cambridge C2 Proficiency, Cambridge C1 Advanced, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, Oxford Test of English, and similar ones. A score equivalent to at least 65 in YDS according to the ÖSYM equivalence table must be obtained from these exams. The exemption exam is conducted by the School of Foreign Languages. Please follow the relevant announcements from the School of Foreign Languages website.
