About the Exam
The Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) will organise the Electronic Exam for Turkish as a Foreign Language (e-YDTS) in 2026. This computer‑based exam is designed to measure candidates’ Turkish proficiency in line with international standards and to provide a valid and reliable certificate at B2, C1 and C2 levels, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Exam Content and Levels
The e‑YDTS consists of four core skills: Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. Its content is tailored to educational and professional language use domains, as defined by the CEFR.
Uses of Exam Results
The e‑YDTS results may be used for the following purposes:

International students’ applications to higher education institutions in Turkey,

International students’ applications for employment in Turkey or in Turkey‑related institutions abroad,

Graduates of literature faculties (departments of language, literature or translation) to certify their qualification to work as sworn interpreters between various languages and Turkish,

Graduates of education faculties (Turkish Language Teaching departments) to certify their competence to teach Turkish in their home countries,
-
Application and evaluation processes of institutions that provide scholarships to international students,
-
Associate professorship applications of foreign academic staff employed at Turkish higher education institutions.
