The Department of English Language and Literature was established in 2010 within the Faculty of Letters at Erzurum Technical University. It admitted its first students in the 2019–2020 academic year and graduated its first cohort in 2024–2025.
The department offers a four-year, full-time undergraduate programme taught in English. Students who do not meet the English proficiency requirements undertake a compulsory one-year preparatory programme, which is not included in the four-year degree. The department’s teaching and research encompass English language studies, British and American literature, the analysis of literary and cultural texts, and critical inquiry.
