TURKISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY EXAMINATION (TDYS-9) ANNOUNCEMENT

The Turkish Language Proficiency Examination (TDYS-9) will be held to determine the Turkish language proficiency levels of applicants who wish to study at ETU TOMER during the 2026–2027 academic year. External applicants who wish to certify their Turkish language proficiency may also take the examination.

The examination will assess reading comprehension, listening, writing, and speaking skills. Candidates’ proficiency levels will be determined according to the levels specified in Article 7(a) of the relevant directive.

Examination Date and Venue

Both stages of the examination will take place on 7 October 2026. The examination will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Venue: Classroom YD-2, ground floor of the building housing the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the Faculty of Letters, Erzurum Technical University. 

Examination Structure and Duration

Candidates who score at least 50 out of 100 in Stage 1 may proceed to Stage 2.

Assessment and Proficiency Levels

Each skill is assessed out of 100 points. The overall examination score is calculated as the arithmetic mean of the four skill scores. Each skill accounts for 25% of the overall score.

Required Identification and Permitted Items

Candidates must present their passport or identity document upon entry to the examination.

Candidates may bring the following items in a transparent bag:

• Water in a plastic bottle with the label removed
• Hand sanitiser
• Tissues
• A pencil or mechanical pencil
• A pencil sharpener and an eraser

Examination Results

Results will be announced on the official ETU TOMER website by 5:00 p.m. on 9 October 2026.

Examination Fee

The examination fee is TRY 4,000 per candidate. The fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

If a candidate subsequently enrols in an ETÜTÖMER Turkish language course, the examination fee paid will be deducted from the course fee.

Application Procedure

Applicants must complete the Turkish Language Proficiency Examination Application Form and submit it with the documents listed below to Serap SÜMBÜLLÜ, the ETÜTÖMER administrative officer at the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Letters.

Required application documents:

1. Completed application form
2. Photocopy of the applicant’s passport
3. Bank receipt confirming payment of the examination fee

The payment description must include the candidate’s first name, surname, and the exact phrase “TDYS-9 ücreti”.
